Filming Blog for Music Video

Image
Well we started off the day by meeting up with each other at my house. We came up with a good place to film the music video. Then we decided who was going to film and who was going to be in the music video. We came up with that I was going to be the camera man. While Marius was going to be in the music video. We walked there it took about 10 minutes. It was in the same building as my old dentist. I filmed the intro of the music video of Marius walking past a sign pointing to the building. I then filmed Marius walking into the first floor of the building. This is then followed up by him walking up to an elevator going up to the dentist office. Once he presses the button to call the elevator he walks in and the doors close. Once the doors close there is a shot of the elevator going up towards the Dentist's office. Once we got the main shots done we went back and did a couple reshoots. During the first reshoot of the opening scene the storyboard fly's off my clipboard and we both ...

Planning Storyboard for my music viedo

Scene 1: In this first scene, as the music begins, a car pulls up to the driveway. As the video begins, the camera gets closer and closer to the window with the child. Scene 2: The camera moves on slowly before the child. The child opens the door, and closes it before starting to walk towards the camera. Scene 3: As the child continues walking in the background, the screen gets darker (with potential cloud added in editing, but that is still to be determined). The child continues to walk, and we see a sign that leads to a dentist. Scene 4: The music continues, and the child notices the sign, just as the music reaches "Highway to Hell". We see the boy start to fear, as his eyes widen and he starts screaming "NO!NO!". Scene 5: The Child's father, which will be seen in the first scene in the car, pushes his son forward, urging him to keep moving. The Child shows some resistance, but is still pushed through. Scene 6: The camera is now behind the child as he is bei...

Planning For My Music Video

Song Title : Highway to Hell by AC/DC Props:  The Majority of Props are still undecided, but we will most likely keep the style of AC/DC. Since most of those songs are usually just a concert, we will have to create something original and break the convention. However, we will do our best to stay true to the original band with our clip. Our Props will include (but are not limited to): A car, some books, preferably school textbooks, and breakfast items, such as bowls, spoons, bread, and more.  Costumes:  Since we are defying the convention of most AC/DC songs, we have creative freedom with costumes. However, we do want to stick to the regular AC/DC attire, which is usually all black. To stick to the theme, we will wear all dark clothes. We will, however, allow for perhaps a little color regarding our clothing to stick with the theme of the clip. Schedule:  As of today, Tuesday the 17th, we begin the preparation for the filming. This includes setting up a locatio...

Research Blog: Music Video Conventions

Well to start off the newer music videos made by ACDC are concert like but because of COVID its just them a stage and a camera crew. In these music videos they use a basic color scheme which is black and red. They will use some editing skills to add in effects like a neon red outline around Axl Rose's body. They flash from a red black room of just one person to the whole band on a stage playing, depending on whats going on they will either put in the whole group or if doing a solo part they will flash to a red room outlined in black with the soloist playing their solo. Along with the outline of neon red around a members body they will have a neon red outline of the instrument they play as well. An example of this in the music video Shot In The Dark around 1:31 they have a shot of Cliff Willams playing his guitar and on his guitar there is a moving streak of a neon red light. This has been a new trend where you will see flashes of an outline of a person with some sort of neon color...

Introduction to the Music Video Project

Image
I am working with one of my good friends on this project. We have done projects like this before and we have always done really well together. We are both able to go to each other's places when ever and we both have pretty flexible schedules. Which makes it really easy for us to get together and think about this project. His name is Marius Brossard, some of the projects we have done together are a math music video. We have also done a parody to never going to give you up way back in eight grade. We chose to do a song from the rock genre. The song we are picking to do is Highway to Hell by ACDC. The reason why we chose this song is one we both like the rock genre very much. The second reason is that we have some good ideas to do when filming. The third reason is that the song is just a head banger. We also have some ideas when it comes to the way we are going to shoot the video. We also have some ideas on how we are going to acting during the filming process. I myself wanted to go ...

Creative Critical Review Qustions

How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?     My product uses conventions from the volleyball aspect such the sand courts, these are one of the many places a volleyball game can be held. Another convention used in my product was the props, the props included the volleyball net, and the volleyball its self. These are two very important, the net is what sets up the boundary between both teams and the volleyball is what you play the game with, without it there could be no game.  2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?   My product engages with the audience from the start you hear the crowd in a roar of cheering which will catch the viewers attention then it rolls into the clips of the person serving then moving into a setting position then finally blocking the volleyball which keeps them focused and at the end shows a quotes Own the Court by Wilson....

Wilson Commercial

Image
This was my very first filming project, the fact it was a solo project was pretty hard. At first I was confused on what I wanted to do. So I was thinking of commercials I could do. I then thought of sports I like. The first thought in my head was I could do a commercial on swimming commercial for Spedo. Then I thought of doing a water bottle commercial. Then I finally thought of the Wilson Volleyball commercial. I then thought of what I could do for the commercial. I was think of doing something like  there is a final serve for the game winner. Then I was going over the timing and found out that the final serve would be too short. Then I had to think of ways to add time. I came up with an idea to have a montage of clips. I thought of doing a serving, then to a clip of me setting and finally doing a clip of me blocking the ball. I then had to come up with the timing for each of the scenes. This would be based on what I think is most important. So I came up with having serving having...

Editing Blog 1 (Wilson Commercial)

Image
When I first started to edit the Wilson Commercial I had to gather the videos that I took the previous weekend. I talked to my friend and he was able to email them to me. Once I downloaded all the videos, I went through each of them to find the right ones. I finally found the right videos I was going to use in the commercial. Then I opened up clipchamp and started in input my my video clips. I was curious on how I was going to put them in order but  put them in order of serving setting and blocking. Then I moved onto clipping down the clips in order to make them fit. Once I got done with editing down the clips i went in to put background music. I first put sound effects that clipchamp had but I would have to upgrade the app in order t access it. So I just went onto youtube and found what i was looking for. I downloaded it as an mp3 file. Then I input it into the commercial. I then cut it down to fit the length of the video. I was almost all set and done about to close out the...

Filming Blog 1 ( serving, setting, bumping montage)

As the day started I told myself i was going to get filming over. I call up my friend to help me film the shots. We load up and drive to the park where we were going to film. When we get there it just finished raining. The sand was very wet and not that easy to play volleyball on, so we wait about an hour for the sand to dry up. Once the sand became dry some people we knew came to the same sand courts we were going to film on and we decided to play a couple of games with them to pass time. Once my friends left we decided to film. We encountered problems when we tried to film. The camera was shaky because the camera man would toss me the ball and also try to keep the camera focused on me. We eventually got it to look decent. We noticed that we could have asked my friends for help with the film but it never crossed my mind at the time. Looking back on it the filming could have gone a lot smoother if we had more help but, I did with what I had. With that out of our mind we continued ...
