Introduction

     My name is Richard Clem, I am 16 years old and the reason why I am taking this class is to widen my knowledge on how film and other variations of media are made. I am 6'3 and i play volleyball. I am a middle blocker which stands at the middle of the net and helps out of defense and spikes. I am currently getting ready to condition for the next couple months to get ready to play volleyball for Fort Lauderdale High School during my junior year. I found my love for volleyball when I was around 12. I was a a practice for my sister when I first hit a volleyball. From there I was always trying to get better at the game. I was always trying to improve at everything when it came to volleyball. I would soon play volleyball for holiday park recreation league. I played there for 4 years and then once I got to high school I was waiting till my second year of high school to play for the boys volleyball team. Sadly the season was cut short due to COVID 19. I was still able to practice volleyball which i was happy about. If i am not playing volleyball I am fishing. I am an avid fisherman who like to fish in both freshwater and saltwater. I have even competed in a few competitions when it comes to fishing. This is a big part of who I am, because I grew up on fishing with my dad. When I was younger my dad would take me out to some lake and we would fish there for hours. That was the stuff I would love to do. Once I got older I got better at fishing I started to use more advanced skills when fishing. I would soon become friends with a good friend of mine. We would go fishing everyday. We would also play basketball, football, and street hockey. We would spend hours out there during the summers and just have fun playing sports and fishing. During the summer I would go free diving at the beach for hours. I would spend at least 3 hours there a day. for a week straight trying to find cool sea creatures just offshore. I would go just past the drop off and free dive there to see what I could find, also I would go spear diving offshore as well.

  In order to learn more about our genre, our group watched Lost Girls, a murder mystery movie released in 2020. This movie is a nice classic murder mystery, similar to the likes of Clue and Murder on the Orient Express. This movie is what initially drew our interest when researching mystery movies, so we are happy to see it. As we watch this movie, we hope to find elements on the genre, as well as learn a few tricks to make a good mystery.  So today we have finishers with the editing of our video. This was a good thing for us because we are able to see our final product. Once we finished editing we looked over our video. We were looking them to see if anything was bad. We looked it over and everything seemed fine. We then were talking about what to do next. This is where we had some discussion. We had to talk about what we wanted to do next. One person wanted to relax and do nothing. One other person wanted to finish up the rest of the blogs. And I had no clue what to do. We then had an argument on what we should do it went nowhere. Then once we stopped arguing we then had to leave Marius place cause it got late. After we got home we texted each other. Title Research: 2001: A Space Odyssey

  What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? - During the Opening sequence, there is, at first, nothing. Then, about 45 seconds in, we get to see the first name. That name is Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, the company who made this movie. The next name, which appears soon after, is that of Stanley Kubrick, the producer of the movie. Finally, we see the title screen. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? -In the opening sequence, the first image is an all black screen. Eventually, we see a big white circle begin to appear, and we realize that it is actually a planet. We slowly move up from the original black screen (which is actually a planet), and more unto the white circle with some light behind it. What connotations do these images carry? - These images carry an interesting connotation, as they are beautiful and gives us an image to look at, leaving the audience in awe at the images and the music especially.
