Our Pitch



After an hour of deliberation and throwing ideas around, our group had many different Pitches. Each pitch was different, from a spy movie which included a heist to a time travel movie. When deciding what Pitch to choose, we had to take multiple factors into consideration. Firstly, the budget. Being High school students, we have a tight budget, and therefore cannot perform too many stunts or have too much CGI. This meant that we had to abandon our plans for a Fantasy genre movie. Secondly, we had to consider time. We have a limited time to produce these parts of the movie, and therefore cannot pick something which requires specific weather or a certain time. In the end, however, we eliminated the pitches and ended up with two final pitches. These final pitches in our opinion are the best ones that we can film and make them look good with what we have available for us.Below are the two pitches we have decided to keep:


Pitch 1: A classic murder mystery story, this movie follows Zachary as he finds his roomate dead, leading to him lead his own investigation to find killed his friend.


Pitch 2: After suffering through a plane crash, Kyle, Barry, and Justin find themselves trapped in the forest as they try to survive until rescue arrives. 


While these two pitches are great and have many possibilities as to how they can happen, our group ultimately decided to use Pitch 1, the murder mystery. We feel as if this will allow us to be more creative, and will be relatively easier to film. We all love the suspense of a murder mystery film, where the audience tries to find out who the antagonist is.  While we would have loved to do the survival movie it  represented a difficult task, which would require a lot of CGI, and would be harder to film in a natural environment. technical The Murder Mystery movie would be easier to film, since it would require no CGI, only good old acting. The Murder Mystery also requires an indoor filming location, which is easier to find these days with a pandemic going on. Now that our Pitch is done, our group will prepare for the deeper plot, the casting, and anything else we require to make this final task a success

  In order to learn more about our genre, our group watched Lost Girls, a murder mystery movie released in 2020. This movie is a nice classic murder mystery, similar to the likes of Clue and Murder on the Orient Express. This movie is what initially drew our interest when researching mystery movies, so we are happy to see it. Production Blog

 So today we have finishers with the editing of our video. This was a good thing for us because we are able to see our final product. Once we finished editing we looked over our video. We were looking them to see if anything was bad. We looked it over and everything seemed fine. We then were talking about what to do next. This is where we had some discussion. We had to talk about what we wanted to do next. One person wanted to relax and do nothing. One other person wanted to finish up the rest of the blogs. And I had no clue what to do. We then had an argument on what we should do it went nowhere. Then once we stopped arguing we then had to leave Marius place cause it got late. After we got home we texted each other. Title Research: 2001: A Space Odyssey

  What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? - During the Opening sequence, there is, at first, nothing. Then, about 45 seconds in, we get to see the first name. That name is Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, the company who made this movie. The next name, which appears soon after, is that of Stanley Kubrick, the producer of the movie. Finally, we see the title screen. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? -In the opening sequence, the first image is an all black screen. Eventually, we see a big white circle begin to appear, and we realize that it is actually a planet. We slowly move up from the original black screen (which is actually a planet), and more unto the white circle with some light behind it. What connotations do these images carry? - These images carry an interesting connotation, as they are beautiful and gives us an image to look at, leaving the audience in awe at the images and the music especially.
