Production Blog

 For this week we have all been pre occupied with our personal business. With Marius has been having water polo practice everyday after school. He is unable to do much towards the project because the practice ends at 6:00. I have been pre-occupied with volleyball after school. I have practice everyday and this week I have games Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. With those days I don’t have games I have practice. This causes Marius and I to both be unable to work towards our final project this week. While Alec is just loaded up with homework from his other classes. With all of us being tied down and unable to work on our project. This goes without saying we all have in mind what we have to do. We just have to find time in order to get done what needs to be done. With the upcoming spring break for our school we will have time to get certain things done. With having a full week to work on our project we can be able to finish the while task over the break. We will make sure not to rush through the task. With the time we have we will be able to go through each scene once finished filming and go over each scene. If we find any scene unfit or not good enough we can re-film that scene. This will make sure that we produce a well made film. Which is why we cant wait for this break. This is  help up finish up our project. Which is on main goal we have in our head.

  In order to learn more about our genre, our group watched Lost Girls, a murder mystery movie released in 2020. This movie is a nice classic murder mystery, similar to the likes of Clue and Murder on the Orient Express. This movie is what initially drew our interest when researching mystery movies, so we are happy to see it. As we watch this movie, we hope to find elements on the genre, as well as learn a few tricks to make a good mystery.  So today we have finishers with the editing of our video. This was a good thing for us because we are able to see our final product. Once we finished editing we looked over our video. We were looking them to see if anything was bad. We looked it over and everything seemed fine. We then were talking about what to do next. This is where we had some discussion. We had to talk about what we wanted to do next. One person wanted to relax and do nothing. One other person wanted to finish up the rest of the blogs. And I had no clue what to do. We then had an argument on what we should do it went nowhere. Then once we stopped arguing we then had to leave Marius place cause it got late. After we got home we texted each other.   What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? - During the Opening sequence, there is, at first, nothing. Then, about 45 seconds in, we get to see the first name. That name is Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, the company who made this movie. The next name, which appears soon after, is that of Stanley Kubrick, the producer of the movie. Finally, we see the title screen. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? -In the opening sequence, the first image is an all black screen. Eventually, we see a big white circle begin to appear, and we realize that it is actually a planet. We slowly move up from the original black screen (which is actually a planet), and more unto the white circle with some light behind it. What connotations do these images carry? - These images carry an interesting connotation, as they are beautiful and gives us an image to look at, leaving the audience in awe at the images and the music especially.
